Damión Perkins

 

Damión Perkins is a Program Manager for Kaiser Permanente’s Community Health Mid-Atlantic States. Damión has a Master’s in Theatre Education from The Catholic University of America. She leverages external partnerships in the Northern Virginia, DC, and Suburban Maryland area to increase equity in mental health and education and address the social determinants of health within under-resourced schools and communities. Her specialty areas include Program Management, Workshop Facilitation, Strategic implementation of Arts-Based Training, Community Engagement, and Curriculum Development. Having taught in the DCPS school system for five years, Damión has a proven ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, school staff, students, and community partners to support the mental health and well-being of the communities in which they live and thrive. She is currently in school to become a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT) and Board-Certified Trainer (BCT). She is a member of the North American Drama Therapy Association under their training program. Damión has always found a way to combine her commitment to youth development and the community with her love for the performing arts. She is also a writer, actor, and poet and has performed in many plays in the DMV area.
