Dane Figueroa Edidi’s (Movement Director & Culture Consultant) previous credits include: The Color Purple, Where The Mountain Meets the Sea, and Spunk at Signature Theatre; it’s not a trip it’s a journey at Round House Theatre; This Bitter Earth, Klytmnestra: An Epic Slam Poem (Helen Hayes Award Winner for Best New Play), and Dontrell, Who Kiss the Sea (Helen Hayes nomination) at Theater Alliance; and Nina Simone: Four Women (Helen Hayes nomination) at Arena Stage. New York credits include: Shape at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club and Tarantella Spider Dance at Theater for the New City. Regional credits include: The Color Purple at Denver Center for the Performing Arts and The Color Purple at Portland Center Stage. Awards include: Helen Merrill Award for Playwriting (2021), Helen Hayes Award, and The Princess Grace Honoria Award. She is an artistic ensemble member at Long Wharf Theatre and the Curator and Associate Producer for Black Trans Women at the Center. She is also the Co-Director of The Black Trans Prayer Book.
