Sound Designer
navi (Sound Designer; he/they) is a non-binary Sri Lankan manymedia artist, musician, writer, and producer. They’re returning to Mosaic Theater for the third time, having previously designed and composed music for Cullud Wattah earlier this year! As a theater artist, navi starred in and wrote the music for .d0t:: a RotoPlastic Ballet at Pointless Theatre, and most recently designed on: The Other Children of the Sun at The Kennedy Center; The Lake Effect at 1st Stage; Cracking Zeus at Spooky Action Theater; and more! They’re an alumni company member with Pointless Theatre, where—in addition to Art Making™ as a lighting designer, composer, sound engineer, performer, puppeteer, production manager, graphic designer, and marketing content creator— they wrote Forest Tréas, an absurdist reflection on the 2002 DC sniper crisis. Currently, they’re running the R&D wing of Flying V Theatre as an Artistic Lead, exploring the vast reaches of performance, technology, and nerd culture!
