Precarious

By Steph Del Rosso

WORLD PREMIERE PRODUCTION

DIRECTED BY Jaki Bradley

June 4-28, 2026

A fresh new comedy about starting out, starting over and the enduring love of family. Recently retired Vi is ready to chart a new path forward, but her daughter Tillie and a summer heatwave seemingly stand in her way. A world premiere, Precarious offers insightful reflections on the climate crisis and generational divides while imagining a brighter future.

Precarious is supported by Mosaic Partners Circle Visionary The Steinglass Family Fund, Activists Craig Benson, David & Jean Grier and Advocate Rosa Wiener.

Precarious was developed by The Cape Cod Theatre Project, Hal Brooks, Artistic Director and with the support of The Playwright’s Center. It was made possible in part with the support of Headlands Center for the Arts.

"...there’s a beautiful moment after the storm that may not only alter your view of the play but also shift your own relation to mortality and the planet." -DC Theater Arts

"It is a story deeper than one about the environmental crisis. It’s about motherhood, about being a daughter and a partner, and truthfully about being a human in the midst of sometimes cripplingly overwhelming news about the world’s flaws." -Dancing in the District

"The small cast is powerful and assured. Kimberly Schraf, Zoe Walpole and Jonathan Del Palmer are honest, raw and engaging." -Broadway World

"Jaki Bradley, the director, gets both the script’s delight and its depth — and our attention to her work is richly rewarded." -DC Theater Arts
