Vince Brown

 

Vincent Brown has had a long and distinguished career in the field of Emergency Management.  He is currently a Senior Program Specialist in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Risk Management Directorate where he is responsible for internal communications for FEMA’s National Flood Hazard Mapping Program, Dam Safety Program, Hazard Mitigation Planning Program and its Building Science Program, among others. He has been in and around HUD and FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program since 1973 and in FEMA and the Department of Homeland Security since their inceptions.  He has also served in FEMA’s Office of Public Affairs and directed the Central US Earthquake Preparedness Program.

Vincent is also an Equity Professional Actor and has done many stage (and film) productions in the Washington, DC area, most recently Water By The spoonful and Fu*#in’ A at the Studio Theatre and Man, Woman, Dinosaur at the Wooley Mammoth Theater. Vincent studied acting and directing with Joy Zinoman at the Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory and Modern Dance with Liz Lerman of the Dance Exchange, where he was a company member.  He is a past Vice Chair and 25-year member of the Board of the Studio Theatre.  Also, he was Chair of the Montgomery County Humanities Commission and a member of the Montgomery County Arts and Humanities Commission. He is a founding member of the Mosaic Theatre Board.

Mr. Brown has an undergraduate degree in Political Science from Syracuse University and his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Syracuse University Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.  He played football and baseball at Syracuse.  Vince is a proud member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He is from Washington, DC where he attended Theodore Roosevelt High School.
