Mosaic Alive: Announcing SEASON 6 - A Discussion With Mosaic Leadership
In the face of global crisis and economic uncertainty, Mosaic Theater Company of DC will draw inspiration for its new season from a nucleus of towering yet under-appreciated figures in history; Activist Witnesses who respond, in word and deed, to calamity leaving a lasting imprint while transmitting their legacy to new generations. Mosaic’s Season 6 will open and close with World Premieres that were to have been the triumphant finales of its #Woke Season 5. Now repositioned, these pertinent new plays about 20th Century icons join a slate of DC premieres about individuals caught in times of war, rampant fever, border conflict, and the global refugee crisis as history’s relevance to our moment is reckoned with all season long.
This interactive discussion features Mosaic leadership fielding topics that range from show selection, how directors and actors are chosen and the production process of bringing SEASON 6 to fruition. Panelists include Artistic Director Ari Roth, Managing Director Serge Seiden, Playwright-In-Residence Psalmayene 24, Production Manager Chris Banks, Casting Director, Assistant Production Manager and AEA Production Stage Manager April E. Carter, and the panel was moderated by Manager of Outreach and Engagement Angelisa Gillyard.
